Australia 🇦🇺 Look no further than your own backyard! The sun is shining during holiday season, with plenty of warm weather during summer. Sydney has the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, beautiful beaches and the Blue Mountains. Melbourne is fun and bustling whilst providing a gateway to the Mornington Peninsula and the Great Ocean Road. Don’t forget Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth!
Nordic Countries 🇳🇴🇸🇪🇩🇰🇫🇮🇮🇸 Avoid the crowds and travel to a Nordic country or a few of them. Cheaper prices at this time of year to go searching for the Northern Lights (picture).
Vietnam and Cambodia 🇻🇳 February is a great month to explore what can be varying climates throughout Vietnam due to its elongated shape. Warm and dry, make sure you Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An and Hanoi. Just east of Hanoi you’ll come across the beautiful Ha Long Bay. If you want off the beaten track, check out the largest caves in the world Phong Nha. If you’re lucky enough to extend your travels, jump across to Cambodia.
Philippines 🇵🇭 Just after peak season with the weather cool and dry. Discover Manila or take your pick of islands you want to discover as there is no shortage of them!
India 🇮🇳 Coming to the end of tourist season, but prior to the hot weather. India is large so there is plenty to do and see. Visit the Taj Mahal (picture), go north to the Himalayas, experience bustling cities such as Mumbai or New Delhi or enjoy Holi festival in Jaipur.
Egypt 🇪🇬 Just after peak season, this is a great time to visit this underrated destination. Plenty of attractions to experience such as the Pyramids of Giza and Sphinx, Valley of the Kings, temples, the lively markets and streets of Cairo, go on a Nile River cruise or go swimming in the Red Sea.
Turkey 🇹🇷 Mild weather and prior to peak tourist season, therefore lower prices. Spanning across two continents, Turkey provides a vast array of activities and sights. Explore Istanbul, take a hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia (picture) or visit the breathtaking coast of Antalya.
Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 With two monsoon seasons, it can be difficult to explore the entire of Sri Lanka but April is your best opportunity. This is just after peak tourist season. From safaris, whale watching, gorgeous mountains some beautiful coastline, there is something for everyone here. To top it off, Sri Lanka has some of the most lovely people you will meet!
South Africa 🇿🇦 Cooler temperatures offer better hiking conditions in the Drakensberg Mountains. Wildlife viewing is optimal due to lower vegetation, so the Kruger National Park should be on your list (picture). If marine life is your thing, the Sardine Run attracts large marine predators to potentially view. Oh and don’t forget shark cage diving!
Nordic Countries 🇳🇴🇸🇪🇩🇰🇫🇮🇮🇸 If the extreme cold weather and Northern Lights don’t excite you, try this beautiful part of the world when it begins to warm up. Long days with plenty of warm weather and sunshine. See the sun at midnight in Iceland and Finland, experience Constitution Day in Norway and the King’s Birthday in Denmark.
Canada 🇨🇦 The lakes are beginning to defrost and weather warming up slightly, making Jasper and Banff National Parks a must (picture)! Why not add Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec for some larger city living.
UK and Ireland 🇬🇧🏴🏴🇮🇪 “Good” weather, at least for UK standards. Very beginning of summer and tourist season, you may still find some good deals. If going to England, enjoy the hustle and bustle of London or visit the Cotswolds. Go north to the underrated Edinburgh in Scotland, jump across to Wales or go and visit Ireland and its beautiful coastline, friendly people and vibrant Dublin city.
Australia 🇦🇺 Dry season in the north of Australia paired with hot weather. Cairns, Darwin and the stunning Northern Western Australia, including Broome and Exmouth provide great holidays. If off-road is your style, the Gibb River Road is stunning. If water is more your style, swim with whale sharks in Exmouth (picture).
United States of America 🇺🇸 Summer is in full swing. Celebrate Independence Day, visit National Parks, go on a road trip or get swept up in the Big Apple. The Land of the Free!
Indonesia 🇮🇩 Peak season, but prices are still pretty good. You can spend time on the popular island of Bali or head over to Java to visit Jakarta and Mount Bromo. Maybe quieter Lombok is your vibe, climbing Mount Rinjani.
Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 Where you say? This hidden gem is beautiful in August. Ala Archa National Park (picture), Fairytale Canyon, Issyk Kul, Altyn-Arashan and Ala-Kul Lake are just some of the breathtaking sights in this beautiful country.
Pacific Islands 🇫🇯🇼🇸🇹🇴🇻🇺🇳🇨🇨🇰 - Take your pick of the most amazing islands in the Pacific. Resorts in Fiji are always busy, however some good specials can be found (picture). Whale season in Tonga is in full flight. Plenty of adventure, sun and relaxation in Samoa, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Cook Islands and more. Early September is better before Australian school holidays.
China 🇨🇳 Such a large country offers such varying climates, but September works well for most of China. Must see include The Great Wall of China and Terracotta Army. If nature is calling you, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Huangshan Mountain. If major Chinese cities is your thing, sticks to Shanghai and Beijing, where you can see the Forbidden City.
Europe 🇪🇺 Prefer less crowds but still want a European holiday? Try October. Less people, cooler weather and cheaper prices lends itself towards much more enjoyable travelling conditions. Warmer weather still exists in Spain, Portugal, Greece and Malta. Great time to visit Italy during harvest season. How about heading to some of the Baltic nations Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro or Bosnia? Take your pick!
South America 🇧🇷🇨🇱🇦🇷🇵🇪🇨🇴 Beat the crowds and go to South America early. Pleasant weather and cheaper prices. Whale season in multiple countries. Try the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru or breathtaking Patagonia in Chile. Of course you can’t go wrong with Brazil and Argentina.
New Zealand 🇳🇿 Across the Tasman, you don’t want to miss the stunning landscape where the beautiful blue lakes meet the snow-kissed mountains (picture). If adventure activities ticks your box, go bungy jumping in Queenstown. Just a little west is the stunning landscape and hikes at Milford Sound. Make sure you taste some wines throughout your travels here and to top it off, experience the Māori culture.
Oman 🇴🇲 This is peak season, however not as crowded as other destinations. Whilst not on many bucket lists, this Middle East country has the best of both worlds. Swim in the Wadi Shab, explore the Wahiba Sands desert or go hiking in the Hajar Mountains.
Thailand 🇹🇭 Dry seasons, warm weather and plenty of sun. What more could you want! This is peak tourist season, but still a cheap destination. Bangkok is good to experience, but the main attraction is the island. Phi Phi Islands, Phuket and Koh Samui to name a few. Enjoy the relaxation.
Central America 🇲🇽🇬🇹🇧🇿🇸🇻🇭🇳🇳🇮🇨🇷 Just prior to the beginning of dry season, therefore slightly lower prices. Relax on the beautiful Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico, hike volcanoes in Guatemala or El Salvador, go snorkelling in Belize at the Barrier Reef (picture) or zip line through the rainforest in Costa Rica.
